Hemp Textiles in North Carolina

Partnering with award winning documentary filmmaker of Straws and Bringing it Home; Linda Booker of By the Brook Films, the Hendy Street team assisted in capturing the story of cotton and hemp farmers and their role in agricultural production in rural North Carolina. We spent a few days on the road traversing the backroads and majestic countryside of northeastern North Carolina. Meeting and hearing the stories of farmers on the frontier of innovation was an extraordinary experience. 

Utilizing the aerial and cinematic talents of Hendy Street, Linda Booker was able to craft a compelling expose. The importance of sustainable agriculture has never been more pressing and learning about the modern integration of traditional techniques drives that home rather effectively. Utilizing local chains of hemp and cotton farming, suppling regional manufacturing facilities ensures that what’s grown in North Carolina stays in North Carolina. Creating jobs as diverse as farmers and filmmakers.
